October 3, 2014

Happy October!

We read the book "How full is your bucket?  For Kids" by Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer.  We've been talking a lot as a class about how we can fill each other's invisible buckets by doing kind things and helping others.

Remember Tuesday is a 2:00 Dismissal and picture retakes.  Friday is a Jeans Day with donations accepted for Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Our field trip with our 8th grade buddies is finalized!  We will be going to Amazing Acres on Thursday October 23.  Parents are welcome to come, but you must meet us out there.  We'll leave school about 8:45 and return about 1:15.  Please send a sack lunch/lunchbox on that day as we'll eat there.  Permission slips are in the folder today.

Our Halloween party will be on Friday October 31 from 2:00-2:45.  Again, parents are welcome to attend, but no siblings please.  Thanks to our room parents Meredith Santucci, Mallory Schoenle, and Erica Richey for their help with this!

There is a homework sheet for the letter L going home today.  Please return by next Friday (10/10).  If the project the student chooses to do is something that can easily be brought to school, feel free to send it in so that they can share.  Homework is for extra practice and an extension on what we're working on at school.  Remember that the math practice sheets do not need to be returned unless you would like me to look over something.
