Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!

Friday is our field trip to Saint Mary's to see the play Christopher's Christmas.  Students will wear their uniform and we'll be back in time for lunch.

In the month of December we start our holiday customs and traditions unit.  The schedule was sent home in the folder last week.  Parents are welcome to come in and assist their children for this project.  In the Spring, we do a how-to project that students must do on their own.  I've also posted a schedule below:

Remember next week we have 1:30 Dismissal on Monday and Tuesday.  No school Wednesday-Friday.  If you need to change your conference time, please let me know.  Students do not typically come to the kindergarten conferences.  I look forward to meeting with all of you!

Report cards are in the folders today.  We will go over them at the conferences.

The proceeds from Market Day go to the kindergarten and pre-k classrooms this month.  Orders need to be placed by Wednesday November 26 through the order form or Monday December 1 for online orders. Pick up is Thursday December 4th.

If you would like a copy of the Christmas program music, please send in a blank CD for Mrs. Fox.

On Friday December 5, Kindergarten will go to Saint Mary's O'Laughlin Auditorium to see the play Christopher's Christmas.  Please send in your permission slips as soon as possible.

Next week we do not have new sight words, word family, poem, etc since it is a short week.

Please remember that Monday is a 2:00 dismissal.  If your pick-up plans are different than normal, please let me know.

Wednesday is the Thanksgiving food drive for the food pantry.  Kindergarten is responsible for shampoo and conditioner.  Please consider sending in a donation.

If you need to change your conference day or time, please let me know!

Report cards will go home next Friday.  During the parent/teacher conference, we will review the report card and go over any questions you may have.

Remember that all girls' hair should be up in a pony tail every day because of the lice situation.

Next week Student Council is sponsoring Spirit Week.  Students may dress down every day except Wednesday.  School uniform is required on Wednesday for Mass!

Monday: College Day (college apparel with jeans or sweatpants)
Tuesday: American Day (red, white, or blue apparel with jeans or sweatpants)
Wednesday: Accessories Day (any accessories that can be removed for Mass with school uniform)
Thursday: Profession Day (anything associated with a future profession, no sweatpants)
Friday: Hawaiian Day (bright colors or flowery clothes with jeans)

Conference schedules went home on Wednesday.  Please let me know if you need to change your time.

Our writing prompts for the month of October went home this week.  By the end of the year, students should be scoring an 8 or above.

We had a guest speaker on Thursday.  Rick Glassman came to give a science presentation to kindergarten.  Ask your students why a hamburger comes from the soil :)

If you would like a copy of the Christmas program music to practice at home, please send in a blank CD and Mrs. Fox will burn a copy for you.

The end of the first trimester is next Friday November 14th.  We will have a 2:00 Dismissal on Monday November 17th.  Report cards will go home on Friday November 21 and then conferences are scheduled for November 24th and 25th.

As it gets colder, please label all jackets, mittens, hats, etc.  Remember that students need jackets in order to play outside and as it gets colder/snowier, they will need hats, mittens, and boots.  Students will not go outside to play if the windchill is below 20 degrees.
