100th Day Celebration

Invite-a-Friend
Students may invite a guest on Thursday January 30 to have a treat with them in the church basement. This event starts at 10:00.  The guest must be 18 or older.  After the snack, the guest can come and see our classroom for a few minutes!

100th Day Celebration
The 100th Day Celebration is scheduled for Friday January 31st (this may change now, I will let you know).  We do not have to make up the other snow days we missed in early January so we kept the 100th day celebration on this day.  I sent a request home for donations.  Please send in your donation by Wednesday January 29th.  We have a fun-filled day full of educational games, activities, and snacks to help us count to 100.

Mystery Bags
Each child received a brown paper bag to place 100 items in and then write a clue.  We will read the clues throughout the 100th day and guess what is in the bag.  Please work with your child to assist them with this!

Testing Results
Testing results came home in the folder yesterday.  These tests measure phonics, letter fluency, comprehension, etc. It shows you exactly what you need to work on with your child and if they have met the goals for middle of year or not.  Please let me know if you have any questions, need ideas for how you can help your child, or would like to go over the results with me.

Birthdays
We've been celebrating a lot of birthdays in KC this month!!  I like every child to be able to celebrate their birthday in school with their peers so we've been celebrating half birthdays for our summer birthday friends.  If you would like to send in a treat for your child's birthday, you may do so.  Please remember that we have 23 students in our class.  Alternatively, you may opt to send in birthday pencils, stickers, or goody bags instead of a birthday treat.

Cold Weather Gear
Students may play outside when the windchill is above 20 degrees.  Please send your students with LABELED boots, hats, and gloves!
