February 28, 2014

We had a guest speaker this week, Dr. Rachel Poulsen, to talk about dental health month.  Dr. Poulsen is a dentist in Mishawaka and was one of my mom's dental students in her residency program at University of Florida.

We implemented a new discipline system in kindergarten this week:Discipline with Purpose (using yellow and red cards).  We are still using our positive reinforcement of sticker charts and pom-poms.

Since we're beginning Trimester 3, we will start practicing tucking in our shirts.  Please practice with your students at home and have them tuck in their shirts before school.

Report Cards are scheduled to go home next Friday.  Please review and let me know if you have any questions.  I will include a copy of the writing rubric so you can see your child's progress.

There is a 2:00 Dismissal on Thursday March 13.  Please plan accordingly.

Our Read-In is scheduled for Friday March 7 from 12:00-12:30.  Guests may come and read with students any time during that time slot.

Additionally, the Mass of St. Joseph is Wednesday March 19th at 8:15 am.  This is a Mass to honor all of our fathers, grandfathers, and father-figures in our lives.  Students may sit with their guest at Mass.

Have a great weekend!
